So, I did this for Facebook, but thought you might enjoy it..

It took me awhile to think of these, but man.. Its been fun reading everyone's 25 things about them!

1. Growing up I was told my name was original, & unique – “Je for Jesus, Ni for Nick (my dad’s name), & Lee (for my mom’s middle name)” it wasn’t until I got a Myspace & confronted my parents in the last couple years, that I found out I wasn’t the only Jenilee, & that I was named after a TV star.
2. My sister’s name is carried on for 3 generations (Peggy) & my brother’s name (Nicholas Charles LeFors III) is carried on for 3 generations as well, & I am Jenilee JOY the FIRST!! (yes, I have an emotional complex about this.. haha)
3. I started out at Northwest University as a Elementary Education major, but ended up as a Political Science major.
4. I went to Nigeria with my Dad, as his interpreter, because he got invited to be a guest speaker at the National Nigerian Deaf Conference. It was one of the coolest things EVER! (I also got the most proposals for marriage that week as well.. okay, the ONLY marriage proposals ever.. haha)
5. I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, & don’t have an accent because I only lived there a year, & because my parents are deaf. Although I do have a signing accent compared to those who live up here in Everett/Seattle.
6. In 2007, I buried a time capsule with 6 friends, & we will open it on July 4th, 2027. I seriously think it was one of the cooler things that I have done.. & I cannot wait to open it & see all my friends, & how we have changed & grown in 20 years!
7. I love High School Musical 1, 2 & 3, & I am not ashamed of it! I love it when people think of me & give me HSM gear! I have HSM mugs, journals, chapstick, pens, stickers, trading cards, pillow cases & MUCH MUCH more! Ha ha
8. I never got a solo in kids/youth choir growing up, instead, they would tell me, “Jenilee, why don’t you sign instead?” Definitely have had a singing complex since then.
9. I attempted to play the violin, flute & the piano, but could never succeed.. Instead, my musical genius sister would take over & so I decided to play outside more.. I regret not knowing how to play the piano. I blame A.D.D.. ha ha
10. I love random adventures, & doing things that I have never done before.. Trying new restaurants is something that I really enjoy doing.
11. I do love trying new restaurants, BUT I truly honestly, cannot express to you the LOVE & adoration I have for a good ol’ Red Robin meal! My favorite is going to my Everett Red Robin, where I know all the servers & managers & such.
12. I love meeting new people & making conversations with random people. Last week, on my lunch break I met Carla, a worker at Wendy’s, & Steve Smith – a telephone salesman – all while being in line at Wendys..

13. I love to personal shop for people, especially when it comes to fashion! I love finding things that flatter people, & then seeing them love what they are wearing. Along side with that, I LOVE What Not To Wear, Stacy & Clinton are my heros!

14. Growing up, I had always wished I had braces, curly hair, glasses, & crutches. People tell me that would have made me a nerd, but I am pretty sure all the girls at the JBQ meets & at church that had those things, were surrounded by boys.. & I wasn’t… So that was my solution... I wore fake glasses in my Yuen Lui Senior Photos… I am pretty sure I went through so many fake glasses… I finally got glasses in ’07, & I cannot tell you how much I PRAYED that I would have to get glasses! Woo hoo!
15. I have two different size thumbs, & I don’t know why. One is normal, the other is a “stumpy” one. I have only met several people with thumbs like mine.. When I was in CA last year, a server asked me about my “tumbs” & he said he made it his mission to search out people with the same kind of thumb as mine, even to the point that he would put movies in slow-motion to check their thumbs.. Guess I was officially welcomed to the “Cool Thumbs Club” that night.
16. I am really good at driving with a trailer in tow. I first learned from Phil Rasmussen, in preparation for touring with a Summer Ministry Team from college, & I love it!
17. I have touched 48 out of the 50 states, & am currently in an unspoken competition with my brother to touch all the states before he does. So, if anyone wants to help me out, let me know! I MUST win!
18. In 6th & 8th grade, I played soccer on an all boys team for my Christian School. I remember being the only girl on the field sometimes, & I loved being able to out-maneuver the guys. Once, I had a penalty kick, & scored, & I remember hearing the goalie’s teammate taunting him, saying he got scored on by a girl. That was a great moment!
19. In 6th grade I almost won the spelling bee, but lost to Peter Zuvela. I’m still bitter to this day.
20. The summer after my 5th grade year, I had a growth spurt in my feet. I kept on telling my mom that my feet hurt, my shoes were too tight, & she didn’t believe me, until my 6th grade spring, when my sister was getting new shoes when she went to England, & I took the initiative to measure my feet, & I was no longer a size 5, but 7! I then only had one pair of sandals for a year, while my feet grew.
21. I didn’t really know about the game of football until my cousin started playing on television. I went to my cousin’s last collegiate football game over Thanksgiving in 2005.
22. I never stepped foot into a movie theater until I was 15 years old. Because my parents are deaf, & were unable to pre-screen the movies. I wasn’t supposed to go until I was 16, but I am a great convincer.. My first movie was Shanghai Noon with David Dively, my brother, & Luke Barrett in Minnesota!
23. I work as a youth pastor at Bethany Christian Assembly. I LOVE my job, & the people I work with!!
24. I love to laugh, & I love it when people are funny & make me laugh.
25. My favorite verse is Ephesians 3:18-20: “And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”
Love,
Jenilee
